Majorca Weather May 2025, Average Temperatures Across The Island

The weather in Majorca in May again improves as we approach the middle of spring. The average daily temperature now increases to a warm 19 Celsius.

May is the first major tourism month of a season that lasts until October and sometimes beyond. This is especially the case towards the end of the month as the temperatures continue to rise. This is a great time to visit if you want good weather but without the crowds.

The daily high temperature during May can reach as much as 23 Celsius. This is a decent improvement from April here with temperature continuing to increase towards June as summer approaches. The daily low temperature for May is 16 Celsius which is more likely at the start of the month. The evenings will also begin to feel much warmer as the month progresses.

The weather in Majorca in May tends to improve in all areas but this can still be a wet month. The temperature of the sea will increase, as will the hours of sunshine. The magnificent beaches and coves here will begin to get busier towards the end of May.

Temps in 2019

Early May 2019 began cloudy for the first few days which is not unusual following April. The next three weeks were mostly sunny with some good temperatures. Several days during the second week saw 20-21 Celsius which was the high for the month. The last week was a mix of cloud and sun with temps of 19 Celsius.

The sea temperature during May increases to 18 Celsius from 16 Celsius in April. This temperature will continue to increase towards the end of the month. Swimming conditions tend to be better in the summer months but the end of May will be suitable also. The following 4 – 5 months are when the sea temperature is at it’s best here. Rainfall
May sees quite a bit of rainfall like April with around 5 days of rain during the month. Majorca tends to see rain all year round which is not the case for some parts of Spain. The amount of precipitation will likely be less than April but heavy at times. May will see the last significant amount of rainfall until autumn arrives


Hours of Sunshine

The hours of sunshine during May increases to 12 hours. Only July tends to see more hours of sun during the height of summer. The end of the month will see the most hours of sunshine as summer approaches.

Palma in May

The capital Palma de Mallorca also enjoys good conditions during May as the temperatures increase. This beautiful city can sometimes be a shade cooler than the island average. Another small downside is the amount of rainfall in these parts. Palma could see a few extra days of rain in comparison to other areas.

Alcúdia in May

Alcúdia during May as a whole will yield much warmer temperatures than the previous 4 months. The average daily temperature now is 19 – 20 Celsius. The super resorts on this island will get much busier towards the end of this month.

The end of May is the beginning of the tourism season as the weather improves. The sea temperature now increases to 19 Celsius also. This will likely be closer to 21 Celsius as June approaches and the summer months.

The days of sunlight are now getting longer with around 10 hours of sunshine per day. May sees a decrease in the amount of rainfall but it will still rain for around 8 days. The next 3 months will see less than half the rainfall of May.
