The weather in Tenerife in February is like January in many respects. The average temperatures are identical but there is usually quite a bit more rainfall. With this in mind, it’s always a good idea to expect hotter weather than the averages suggest.

The days of rainfall during February increase to around 5 on average. The precipitation when it arrives tends to be more than most months. Only November and December record more rainfall than February. In fact, the rain will continue to decrease every month until November arrives again.
The cities of Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz tend to see the bulk of the rain. This is also true for many of the areas in the north of the island. The resorts in the south enjoy some protection from Mount Teide.

February sees the hours of sunshine increase from 6 hours to almost 8 hours. The hours of daylight also increases to 12 hours. Only the longer daylight months of June, July and August will see more hours of sunshine. These are the hotter summer months with 10 hours of sunshine. February does tend to remain overcast for much of the month. There are still plenty of days of sunshine when the grey skies clear up.
